Liking the placement of the neck roll pillows. Maybe this ( a little more tailored) could replace the theater seats?

I just love how much style and color pillows can add to any room. I am always looking for new ways to use them, layer them, stack them , whatever. They can turn your boring sofa into a drop dead showpiece. Turn that traditional room into Ell Decor, and next to a new paint job the quickest ,easiest way to update. I just ordered my new chesterfield sofa ( I'll talk about my "new living room" tomorrow) and its 25 inches deep WOW, I can surly get at least six pillows across, really excited !!!!! I like to mix texture and prints, not always matching. Sometimes a little unexpected pop is what makes a room. Always be sure to use a down blend filler, nothing worse than a pillow at stiff attention.

Random Hallelujah Chorus@Macy's (John Wannamakers)

I just had to post this since I have a soft spot for the famous John Wanamaker's store in Philadelphia, now Macy's. When I started in the executive training program in 1973 B.C. was my boss, now he just thinks he is. I would have no part of dating him my career was more important. We can see how strong I was...... I had the privilege of working in this famous landmark for 10 years. I listened to the grand organ play reveille every morning and taps at closing. Fought the crowds at countless Christmas light shows and lunched most days in a special dining room off the Crystal Tea Room. It was and will always remain a very special part of my life. Seeing this video and the happiness it bought to so many made me go back in time to so many Christmas shows, and the man who was responsible for them John Wanamaker.

Our room, and everything was just perfect.
Check out the pier mirror in the foyer, it was at least 13" high.

I am not usually a fan of Victorian Decor but it was so pleasant staying here. I felt like I belonged here with the sun streaming in.
Dinner at my favorite restaurant Peter Shields Inn. I recommend the tapas followed by the lobster crab cake
That's B.C. in the corner reading the Sunday Paper, and without the phone ringing! Another cup of coffee please.




A peak at the Designers Show House

While we were "vacationing" we stopped in to the Cape May Designer Show house. It was closed but the owner let us take a peak. I was blown away by the work of Black and Poole from Philadelphia. To design a very Victorian home and update it without loosing respect to the architecture and period was accomplished by Black and Poole.










October 29 was our 33 anniversary, so B.C. and I celebrated this weekend with a trip to Cape May. All right it's only about 25 minuets from our house, but when you work from home just getting away from the phones can seem like the other side of the world. Sitting in the living room of the Mainstay Inn Bed and breakfast I began to unwind and relax. We met another couple from Pennsylvania who were celebrating their 3rd anniversary ( where does time go). Anyway, after a dinner at Peter Shields Inn, a bottle of champagne, and a weekend away, I am more loving , rested, and raring to go

I am always looking for fun, stylish prints to create special rooms for kid's. Decorating children's spaces is probably one of my favorite jobs . Kids are hip today and they know what they want. So you better be cool and know what is in. When I saw the prints designed by British Illustrator- Quentin Blake for Osborne and Little I knew this was a style kids could relate to. They are colorful sophisticated and fun at the same time. The collection is called Zagazoo and is available through designers.
